AMSTERDAM, 9th June 2022
During the NBCC Awards 2022 N+P received the honorable SME Award. The purpose of this award is to celebrate the contribution of small and medium size enterprises to the private sector both in the UK and the Netherlands.
The NBCC Awards represents the outstanding achievements of British & Dutch organisations of the past year in the categories of sustainability, technological innovation, the woman of the year, SMEs and bilateral cooperation. Expert juries have evaluated hundreds of entries and agreed on a longlist of ten nominees for each of the awards. The nominees, judged by experts (among others represented by ABN AMRO, Heineken and Economic Affairs) are the women and organisations that set the highest standards for others to follow across a wide range of sectors.
Anita van den Ende, Dutch Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs said: “As North-Sea-Neighbours and partners, the UK and the Netherlands are looking forward to more collaboration and pushing green recovery.”
The jury saw the initiative as a great example of British-Dutch collaboration, where the personal relationships and collaboration contributed to the British-Dutch trade relationship. "They were able to look above politics and to find practical solutions for business whilst being highly responsive. And have allowed goods to continue to move efficiently across the border between our North Sea Neighbours."
Ingrid Thijssen, chairman VNO-NCW said: “Our trading relationship with the UK goes back centuries and it is important that we continue to invest in it. Because Dutch companies still see the UK as an important market, according to the research by the NBCC. It is therefore important that we are able to limit the negative effects on companies due to Brexit – such as higher costs and more administrative burdens – as much as possible. Because there are many opportunities for both our countries to further intensify this cooperation – for example in the field of sustainable energy and innovation. The annual NBCC Awards show that many Dutch and British companies already know each other well in this area and I would like to congratulate all winners.”
Minister for Investment Lord Gerry Grimstone said:
“These awards have been a wonderful celebration of the individuals and companies who have played a key role in Anglo-Dutch trade and investment this past year. Their achievements are a testament to the long shared history of trade and collaboration between the UK and the Netherlands. We are each other’s fourth largest trading partner and Dutch investment accounts for more than 10% of our inward stock of FDI – a remarkable figure.”
The jury judges on the:
- Inspiration: inspiring contribution to bringing the economy to a higher level
- Added value: creating jobs
- Media profile and source of inspiration
- Social engagement, social impact
- Contribution to Anglo-Dutch Relationship
- Adaptiveness to both Brexit and Covid-19 pandemic
Lars Jennissen, Chief Development Officer N+P Group said: “I am honoured to been able to receive this award on behalf of our family and our colleagues. In our view, this award recognizes the hard work and investment we have done as a company in the development of our organisation both in the UK as in the Netherlands. We firmly believe in the potential of our countries collaborations, and look forward to continue growing our businesses in the years to come.
