N+P Group confirmed its arrival at the Isbergues industrial platform this Monday noon (March 18, 2024). This confirmation came through the signing of the purchase agreement for the land it will occupy by the end of 2025.
All barriers have been lifted. After receiving the green light from the prefecture in November 2022, followed by the validation of the building permit, all that remained was to sign the sale of the land at a notary's office in Aire-sur-la-Lys. This has been done since this Monday noon (18 March, 2024) between Aperam, the owner, and the N+P Group, which will settle a production plant on a 2.5-hectare plot within the Isbergues industrial platform - which spans a total of 100 hectares. N+P Group will produce alternative fuels from waste, destined, among other things, for blast furnaces, lime- and cement plants.
"Any company can replace the coal it consumes with our alternative", explains Geoffroy de Myttenaere, CEO of N+P Group. "Firstly, because it's cheaper, and secondly, it allows them to reduce their carbon footprint by about 50%". "I'm delighted that we're taking our first steps in France, especially since we're in a region with a lot of potential", the CEO of N+P Group, Geoffroy de Myttenaere.

"I am pleased that this project is becoming a reality. Conversations began about two and a half years ago, and all the conditions had to be met on the side of Aperam and N+P Group. That's the case today", noted Gérard Grimbert, director of Aperam. "The new company is set to be installed on a plot to the north of the Isbergues industrial platform, which has been abandoned for at least 50 years, opposite to Igneo".

Several million invested
The construction of the building is slated to commence in June and is expected to last for a year. Following this, it will need to be equipped, leading to the operation of the factory in the third or fourth quarter of 2025. This initial line is projected to yield 160,000 tons of fuel annually.
Between 50 and 60 individuals are expected to be hired. "Recruitment has not yet begun," The CEO of N+P explained on this Monday. "We should have a plant manager and a human resources manager by September." Recruitment for production handling operators will take place in 2025.
N+P Group also plans to establish a second line two years after the first, resulting in approximately twenty additional jobs. The expected investment for these two phases is approximately 50 million euros.
