About the job
As the Operations Supervisor you will safely operate the production plant through implementing the relevant controls and procedure to safeguard colleagues, equipment and uphold / enhance our quality of the product manufactured.
The most important tasks, activities and responsibilities are:
- Responsible for your own Health and Safety, for the Health and Safety of those directly responsible to you, your work colleagues and any others who may be affected by the operations under your responsibility or control. You must ensure that at all times the correct PPE is worn. Please refer to the Health and Safety Policy for further details on your specific responsibilities
- Safe operating of the Subcoal TSP production plant through implementing the relevant controls and procedure to safeguard colleagues, equipment and the quality of the product manufactured
- Managing plant isolation and restart in line with our Risk Assessment & Method Statements (RAMS)
- Robust knowledge of the plant emergency procedures and fire alarm systems
- Overall responsibility for start of shift handover briefings through forming the end of shift production log / report
- Assess and ensure compliance of all team members skills & competence vs the critical skills matrix
- Control of contractors on site in line with our site rules and ensuring RAMS are followed
- Ensure the shift team is utilized across the production facility in line with the relevant skills & competencies whilst upholding safety & quality standards
- Lead the achievement of production & PPM KPI’s through clearly communicated safe and structured shift objectives
- Stand in for the Assistant P&Q leader when required in the control room to ensure continuity of production and quality
- Ensure there are sufficiently trained Fire Wardens within the shift and appointed during operations.

- Supervise operations shifts, ensuring safety, production, and quality standards are met.
- Promote continuous improvement and lead teams to meet KPIs.
- Effectively manage time, priorities, and safety in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate advanced plant knowledge and work autonomously to manage production line needs.
- Lead, escalate, and collaborate with colleagues to resolve production and quality issues.
- IOSH certified and first aid trained to uphold best practices in health and safety.
